Color used to be everywhere in this world, but now it's fading fast. Two eleven-year-old twin brothers are sent on separate journeys to bring it back. One is pulled into the rich, vibrant past. The other is forced to face the bleak, colorless future shaped by their world’s own mistakes. With a prophecy looming and time running out, they have to find their way back to each other before it’s too late.

Inspired by a beloved children’s classic, this is a visually rich adventure about memory, consequence, and the kind of love that just might be strong enough to save everything.

01. The Story Behind the Work

The passion behind this project runs deep. The Executive Producer first encountered the original book as a child and it left a lasting impression. Years later, determined to bring that magic to life on screen, he took an unusual approach to securing the rights. Traveling all the way to Europe, he persistently chipped golf balls at the author’s window until the author finally came out and invited him inside. That chance meeting sparked months of collaboration that helped shape the story into what it is today.

The concept grew from the idea of a world losing its color—a vivid and emotional way to explore themes of creativity, loss, and hope. The team wanted to honor the original work’s rich imagination while crafting a story that would connect with today’s audiences, especially families and kids. One of the biggest challenges was translating a visually symbolic and poetic tale into something cinematic and accessible without losing its heart.

This story matters because it speaks to something universal—the fight to hold on to what makes life vibrant and meaningful. It’s a journey about more than just adventure; it’s about love, courage, and the hope that even in the darkest times, things can be made whole again.

02. What I Did
  • Supported the Executive Producer in shaping the story and developing the world, helping bring the vision to life from concept to narrative framework

  • Conducted in-depth research to expand the mythology and themes, enhancing emotional resonance and keeping the story relevant for a modern audience

  • Contributed creative input that helped refine the twin brothers’ journeys, balancing adventure, heart, and thematic depth

  • Enriched worldbuilding through collaborative development and story analysis

  • Provided contextual insights that informed broader franchise development and supported engagement across multiple formats

  • Collaborated closely with writers and producers to align story, tone, and visual style

  • Helped build a cohesive and immersive world centered on themes of restoration, hope, and connection

03. The Impact

This project is currently in development with a major studio in Los Angeles, representing an important milestone in bringing this story to a broader audience.

Through the development process, the story became stronger and more emotionally impactful. The team revisited and refined key elements, ensuring the narrative was both visually striking and thematically meaningful. This collaboration deepened the characters’ journeys and highlighted core themes of restoration and hope.

The project has sparked valuable conversations within the creative team and early industry partners about approaching classic fantasy storytelling in fresh, inclusive ways. These efforts have laid a solid foundation for the project’s continued growth and audience connection as it progresses.
